Varex’s X-ray flat panel detectors for digital radiography work by converting the X-rays that strike its surface into light, and then turning the light into electronic data that a computer can display as a high-quality digital image.

Our flat panel detectors combine the best in amorphous silicon sensor panels, radiation-converting materials, low-noise analog and high-speed digital electronics, custom ASIC control and processing electronics, and compact packaging.

Varex also offers CMOS flat panel X-ray detectors. These detectors employ an innovative CMOS sensor design to provide a new level of performance and reliability for X-ray systems used in mammography, fluoroscopy, cone beam CT, and projection radiography markets in medical and dental. Its major advantages are high frame rates, low noise, high reliability, no image lag, and high spatial resolution. Clinical benefits in medical applications include lower radiation dose to the patient without compromising image quality. CMOS Detectors are more flexible, more stable, more sensitive, and faster than TFT-based flat panel detectors while producing higher resolution images.

Product Inquiry: Medical Flat Panel Detectors

If you have a flat panel service request, proceed to the Flat Panel service report form and provide the requested information.

If you have a tube warranty/product return, please fill out the X-Ray Tubes Housing & Warranty form.

This report is to be submitted on each Flat Panel removed from service. Each flat panel must be returned with a completed Service Report describing the reason for return, operating conditions with install and remove dates in order to receive warranty consideration.

Before an RMA # can be issued on “Out Of Warranty Returns” a PO for $1,300.00 needs to be supplied at time an RMA# is requested. Note: All products must be cleaned of blood, contrast media or body fluids before returning.

Please fill out this form completely and hit submit. We will then email you further instructions along with an RMA number. Please do not ship any material to us without an RMA number; we will not be able to accept it.

Please Return within 90 days of RMA# Issued. After 90 days, RMA# will be closed and you will need to request a new RMA# to return your product.
